Todays tip is short and to the point. The topics that you discuss during an appraisal should not come as surprise. This is particularly important when dealing with issues or difficulties. What I mean by this is that you shouldn’t store up bad news for the appraisal but dealt with as it arises in your one-to-one meetings. By all means go over any particular behaviour or issues if the problems are still arising or if they impact on another point that you need to address but it shouldn’t be the first time your team member has heard of it.
